Personality Sandwich
Materials: Air Dry Clay, Clay Tools, Acrylic Paint, Cardboard
Activity: Students explored the limitations and qualities
of air dry clay and acrylic paint in the creation of a "personality sandwich", through which they assigned forms, symbols, and objects to their distinct and individual personalities. This sculpture helped students explore their interests and allowed them to explore the variety of ways they could communicate these interests as something that exists in the real world.
Instructions: 1. Choose block letter
2. Make line drawing of block letter on cardboard
3. Use drawing as "blue print" to form slab letter form (bread of the sandwich)
4. Build interior sculptures to support the letters (bread)
5. Paint all sculptures, cardboard (as a base) and assemble
