Washington Irving Middle School Visual Arts

Mr. Dracup's Art Class
Roslindale, Massachusetts, United States
Welcome to the Washington Irving Middle School Visual Arts Blog. In this blog I (Joshua Dracup) share projects and events that are relevant to my visual art classroom. Located in Roslindale Massachusetts, the Irving helps provide over 150 inner city youths with a balanced arts education. We strive to uphold safe and creative classroom atmospheres that encourage students to explore art materials and concepts while shaping personal identities and fostering creative problem solving. My lessons are inspired by local artists, student experiences and their diverse backgrounds. They follow and expand upon national, state, and city arts based standards. My pedagogy is based on a model that puts the teacher in the role of facilitator and guide as I allow students to engage with the content in ways that are personally relevant. You will never see 25 works of art that are exactly the same! Please feel free to leave constructive feedback or contact me by leaving your information. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!!!
